### Objectives

The objective of this validation article is to investigate the effect of current angle (Id / Iq distribution) on Maxwell harmonic forces in a low-speed, high torque Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines for wind turbine applications.

### Results

One can see that the harmonic effect of current angle obtained with MANATEE agrees well with [R1] calculations carried in FEA:

Some differences exist but MANATEE results are assumed to be more accurate as subdomain modeling technique does not suffer from meshing error. MANATEE calculation only takes a few seconds while full FEA calculations of [R1] take several hours due to low symmetry of the machine.
